BB&E is a full service civil and environmental engineering and consulting firm, headquartered in Northville, Michigan, which services both the Federal and Industrial sectors throughout the United States. BB&E team members provide Environmental Consulting, Facilities Engineering and Program / Project Management Services to Federal and private sectors.
Position Summary
BB&E is seeking a creative and highly skilled Graphic Artist to join our team to deliver high-quality graphic designs and visual content to the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Caribbean District (South Atlantic Division [SAA]) in Puerto Rico which is responsible for managing the planning, design, and construction of Civil Works, Military and Interagency and International Support (IIS) Projects throughout the Caribbean region. The Graphic Artist will work closely with USACE to create visually compelling materials that communicate project goals and support outreach and operational initiatives to support projects in Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Graphic Design & DevelopmentProduce professional-grade graphic designs for digital and print materials, including but not limited to advertisements, brochures, banners, social media posts, website graphics, logos, infographics, posters, and PowerPoint presentationsDesign visual content for technical reports, proposals, and project documentation, ensuring clarity and alignment with project objectivesDevelop creative concepts that effectively communicate complex information in a visually engaging manner
- Branding & ComplianceEnsure all designs adhere to USACE branding guidelines, including typography, color palettes, logos, and overall styleRegularly update design templates to reflect changes in project requirements or branding standardsMaintain consistency in visual assets across various projects and deliverables
- Collaboration & CommunicationWork closely with project managers, engineers, and communications teams to understand project goals and translate them into compelling visualsCollaborate with the Outreach Team to design promotional materials for events, community engagement, and stakeholder meetingsPresent design concepts and incorporate feedback to refine and enhance deliverables
- Motion Graphics & Video Editing
- Create motion graphics, animations, or video content for presentations, social media, or promotional campaigns
- Edit and optimize video content for clarity, branding, and engagement
- Administrative & Organizational TasksManage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritizing deadlines and deliverablesMaintain an organized archive of digital and print assets for future useStay updated on design trends and tools to enhance creative processes
Key Qualifications
U.S. Citizenship and theability to obtain / maintain a NACI / CAC is requiredKnowledge and CompetenciesStrong understanding of design principles, including typography, color theory, composition, and layoutAbility to produce high-quality, error-free designsStrong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectivelyOpenness to expanding skill sets, particularly in motion graphics and video editingKnowledge of cultural sensitivities and norms within the Caribbean region to enhance design relevance and engagement is preferredStrong Communication Skills : Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences; bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish to enhance collaboration with diverse teams in the Caribbean region is preferredSoftwareProficiency using MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; proficiency in graphic design software, including Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) is requiredExperience with motion graphics, animation, or video editing software such as After Effects or Premiere Pro is preferredFamiliarity with web design tools such as Adobe XD, Figma, or similar platforms is preferredSelf-Starter : Highly motivated, with the ability to take initiative and manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomouslyExperience & Education
Experience : A minimum of 5 years of experience in graphic design, visual communication, or a related field with proven experience producing materials for both print and digital platforms is required; experience with branding and design guidelines for federal agencies (specifically USACE) and background on Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands is preferredEducation : A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Fine Arts, or a related field from an ABET accredited university is requiredPhysical Requirements
