The role

Skillr's mission is to connect the world by sharing expertise and know-how. As a platform engineer, you will be at the forefront of building an innovative platform that connects the world. In this role, you will make the critical decisions and contributions that will shape the Skillr platform today and in the future. Your contributions ultimately ensure that our users always have a seamless experience.

The work

Architect, build and maintain core platform services
Develop and monitor system KPIs to ensure high availability
Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes
Provide mentorship and guidance for team engineers

The essentials

5+ years of experience developing and operating production backend systems at scale

Strong proficiency with Node.js & AWS

Maintain a high set of standards and ensure team adherence to software development best practices

Deep knowledge of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems

Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex subjects

An eye towards the future and unafraid to challenge the status quo
