Planner / Buyer

Job Description

Planner / Buyer with experience in regulated industry to coordinate the material planning effectively and purchasing functions and ensuring timely delivery of components to production.

• Compares and verifies purchase orders against forecasted raw material, components and related requirements to ensure adequate supplies are ordered for production.
• Reviews and analyzes statistical data to determine buying trends / volumes and to establish price objectives and / or opportunities.
• Reviews comparison charts, proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery for nonstandard or larger than normal orders.
• Manage and maintain inventory.
• Inventories goods receives and identify discrepancies.
• Check schedule delivery dates and make contact with suppliers about late deliveries.
• Escalates issued and notifies appropriate personnel.
• Checks with warehouse and production regarding availability and movement of materials to detect shortages or overages.
