Configure, manage, and maintain fiber optic and wireless infrastructure. Accountable for network maintenance and provisioning to ensure it operates correctly with minimal interruptions.
- Create virtual path to transport data to non-fiber optic sites.
- Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, WiMax radios, and PTP radios.
- Set up service for customers, installing, connecting, testing, or adjusting equipment.
- Provide technical support to customers.
- Resolve hardware and software problems.
- Perform data circuits’ tests with specialized equipment to detect problems.
- Measure signal strength at utility poles, using electronic test equipment.
- Perform network monitoring and assist in fiber optic and wireless infrastructure breakdowns.
- Provide maintenance windows for computers on network.
- Perform RFC-2544 testing with network instruments.
- Install equipment, such as amplifiers or repeaters, to maintain communications transmissions strength.
- Verify possible upgrades to optimize network.
- Set up service for customers and company’s office buildings, installing, connecting, and adjusting equipment.
- Travel to customers' premises to install, maintain, or repair audio and visual electronic reception equipment or accessories.
- Measure signal strength at utility poles, using electronic test equipment.
- Perform service disconnections when necessary.
- Find and repair faults and make installations using measurement equipment and software.
- Assist customers reporting faults.
- Engage in technical support teams to work towards problems resolution related to physical telecom infrastructure.
- Document runbooks, tickets, and circuits.
- Install structured wires.
- Install and configure wireless networking equipment.
- Install network software, including security or firewall software.
- Install new hardware or software systems or components, ensuring integration with existing network systems.
- Monitor circuits individually.
- Keep material and equipment inventory.
