Join Collins Aerospace as a Senior Software Engineer , and work with the Software Technologies team within the Mission Systems C4I&A organization. We are looking for a strong, passionate problem-solver with an action-oriented, collaborative mindset who strives to exceed expectations.
In this role, you will be contributing to the engineering development and execution of critical and strategic programs that enable our C4I&A product lines. You will participate in software engineering activities that design, develop, integrate, test, and maintain software solutions for various communication systems products.
This position will sit at our Aguadilla, PR location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.
This role is categorized as hybrid , with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote following the schedule assigned by the Manager.
What YOU will do :
- Software Development : Design, develop, and enhance software solutions for communication and cyber intelligence systems.
- Integration and Testing : Integrate and test software in an Agile development environment.
- Collaboration : Work directly with software engineers, project engineers, and supporting organizations to ensure successful software project execution.
- Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including peers across C4I&A Engineering, industry partners, and third-party vendors, to ensure alignment and transparency.
- Mentorship : Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Risk Management : Assist in managing project risks / issues and elevate them to upper management when appropriate.
- Compliance : Ensure compliance with Collins development processes and standard work requirements.
- Bids and Proposals : Participate in the development of engineering bids and proposals.

Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience.Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program / contract.Qualifications We Prefer :
Proven experience in embedded software development using C++, including debugging, integration, and deployment on embedded platforms.Direct involvement and success in Agile methodologies with demonstrated experience in managing cross-team coordination.Proficient in embedded operating systems, including Linux shell scripting, Python, Perl, with exposure to modern wireless communication technologies.Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS Cloud.Crypto system requirements capture, design formulation, algorithms and implementationBroad understanding of system engineering principles.Knowledge of software execution throughout the entire software life cycle (preliminary design through maintenance phases).Software and system-level debugging experience.Experience with Database technologiesFamiliarity with Git, Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, and Coverity.Familiarity with reading firmware source like VHDL or Verilog.Experience with hardware-software integration in real-time embedded systems.What We Offer
