Overview We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our dynamic team of industry leading experts at our facility in Humacao, PR. As part of the management team, you will lead the team to increase the efficiency, utilization and quality of Lutron manufacturing processes as well as to improve its customer delivery in Electronics assembly. Also, execute Value Engineering processes and strengthen participation in engineering managers community with corporate engineering Headquarters in PA, USA. Responsibilities Global Process Improvements (GPI) : Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout by applying Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and other methodologies. Ensures adherence to Lutron Production Systems and enhances as necessary. The Lutron production system as the collection of corporate standard best practices for operating and improving on the production floor. Process Engineering function : Lead SMT (Surface Mount Technology) and FSS (Fountain Selective Solder), Wave Solder processes : Process development for Printed Circuit Boards Assemblies (PCBAs) to apply surface mount and through-hole components Manage equipment and process reliability, efficiency and quality Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer's instructions and established procedures; requesting special service. Engineering Support Functions : Manages Manufacturing Systems Software required for production execution such as Digital Manufacturing , PackScan, Label database and others Manages Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) working with Corporate engineering functions Manages non-conformances through quality tools such as 8Ds, Ishikawa, and other appropriate tools Facilities Management Oversees the functioning of buildings and grounds, ensuring that the facility is in optimal condition. Leads the activities of staff in relation to facility maintenance, ensuring that all maintenance works are done accurately and on time. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum, cumulative GPA of 3.00 Master’s degree is a plus. At least 10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering in electronics and / or mechanical assembly industry. Minimum 3 years of experience and knowledge in Process improvements such as Lean, or Six Sigma methodology Knowledge of Surface Mount Technology (SMT), Fountain Selective Solder (FSS), Wave is a plus Working knowledge of excel and other software tools for data analysis. Experience in high mix - low volume manufacturing environments, electronic / mechanical industry preferred. Required Skills : Excellent technical and people leadership. Results oriented and self-driven. Excellent interpersonal skills and work ethics. Complete fluency in English and Spanish in verbal, reading and writing. Sound judgment and decision making, problem solving, flexibility, assertiveness, resilience, and strong quality orientation Hands-on professional. Ability to influence, excellent follow through and organization skills.
