A Brief Overview
The Business Intelligence Analyst supports the Cards Business Financial Risk Manager and Unsecured Consumer Lending Business Director in designing and executing business analysis to develop and implement the Cards Business strategic and tactical plans. This includes preparing executive and senior management reports and presentations. The analyst proactively studies business trends using advanced analytical techniques and presents findings, recommendations, and potential actions to maximize profitability and strengthen portfolio composition. The role requires translating business problems into analytical frameworks and presenting clear, concise results to guide management decisions. Responsibilities also include analyzing portfolio trends, developing frameworks for proactive monitoring, and supporting continuous learning and optimization initiatives.
The Business Intelligence Analyst collaborates with all Cards Business units and support groups, with growth opportunities within the organization. The analyst works closely with the Credit Cards Management Team and the Unsecured Business Management Team, supporting special projects and analyses across segments such as personal loans, lines of credit, and small loans.
What You’ll Do
- Support the Financial Risk Manager and Business Director in business analysis and strategic planning.
- Design multivariate statistical models and data mining techniques to predict customer behavior, optimize usage, activation, acquisition, and prevent attrition.
- Study business trends and present insights, recommendations, and actions to maximize profitability and portfolio strength.
- Monitor business initiatives to ensure positive payback and profitability.
- Assist in preparing, analyzing, and presenting monthly key performance indicators, dashboards, and scorecards.
- Segment and extract data to support acquisition, activation, and usage targets.
- Integrate multiple data sources to analyze customer behavior at account and customer levels.
- Develop profit and loss analyses based on various scenarios aligned with business needs.
- Support budget planning, preparation, and analysis for the Cards Business.
- Define needs with management, analyze, and break down complex problems for comprehensive understanding.
- Develop and execute moderate to complex programs or queries.
- Create accurate reports within deadlines to support management decision-making.
- Assist in developing management and executive presentations.
- Lead or support special projects as requested by management.
- Prepare and deliver presentations to management on relevant matters.
- Support other Card Services units during special assignments or licensing periods.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Statistics, Economics, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Applied Mathematics (Master’s preferred), with at least three years of experience in data analysis-related fields.2-3 years of experience in a financial institution, preferably in credit card or consumer finance, with expertise in financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and advanced database management. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, SQL, SAS, Power BI, and related tools.Competencies
