Falcón-Sánchez is a leading local CPA and Consulting Firm with over 40 years of establishment. We provide assurance, tax, and risk and advisory services to clients in and outside of Puerto Rico.
OVERVIEW
The Accounting Intern is primarily responsible to assist staff members in basic accounting functions. The goal is to provide the intern with an overall understanding of the full accounting cycle to help them better understand the accounting profession and responsibilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Assist in the calculation of payroll and assist processing once approved.
- Assists with preparing and monitoring budgets.
- Assists with annual audit preparations.
- Helps in the investigation process to resolves audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
- Assist in the preparation of federal, state, local, and special tax returns, in accordance with tax compliance deadlines.
- Assist in the customer service process.
- Performs other accounting duties and supporting accounting staff as required or assigned.
Requirements
1. Bachelor’s degree in progress in business administration with mayor in accounting (Third and Fourth year of bachelor’s degree).
2. Should become familiar with the firm's policies and procedures.
3. Obtain a working knowledge of tax and accounting research techniques and the various research sources in the firm library.
4. Obtain a working knowledge of firm technology, including time and billing software.
5. Computer literate in Microsoft Office application such as Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, and Outlook.
6. Excellent verbal and written skills.
