The Engineer – Product & Process Sustainability is a key role in the Science and Sustainability Group within the Global Technical Innovations Group (GTIG) at CooperVision. The role is responsible for sustainability and circular design activities / projects on company products, working in conjunction with different functions across the company and suppliers to focus on incorporating sustainability in product and process design.

  • Proven project management experience, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize as required.
  • Manages multiple and / or changing priorities with good organizational and time management skills.
  • Facilitates concept development, problem resolution and root cause analysis during developments.
  • Demonstrates ongoing awareness, interest, and passion for sustainability best practices.
  • Excellent computer skills , with experience analyzing, reporting, and summarizing data.
  • Must have the ability to develop cross-organization partnerships in order to accomplish sustainability goals.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with a wide range of internal customers at all levels within the company.
  • Investigates technology and issues as a technical SME for initiatives and project design teams.
  • Develop, coordinate, and execute engineering studies upon objectives and requirements.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes adopting sustainability “best practices”.
  • Leads the introduction of new equipment, technology, systems, and processes.
  • Support the measurement and verification of sustainability projects to verify goals are achieved.
  • Support the development of claims and communication related to product sustainability.
  • Knowledge in automation and controls
  • Digital electronic certificate
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Highly motivated, self-starter, and responsible person
  • Bilingual (English / Spanish).
  • At least 0-2 years of relevant industrial or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or medical device industries preferred
  • Experience in R&D, process development, and / or product development
  • Bachelor degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical).
  • MS degree in engineering preferred.
  • Engineering-In-Training (EIT) license preferred.
