Duties and Responsibilities :
Coordinate all supportive aspects of patient care, from admission to discharge and referrals.
Conducting physical examinations and medical assessment prior to referral to see a physician.
Conduct patient interviews, document patient history, current health status and medical problems
Performs specialized procedures such as cast application and removal and dressing changes and administering prescribed medications.
Anticipate changing needs and / or priorities.
Maintain up to date patient records and ensure all patients are registered and recorded.
Work closely with Americares logistics and support staff to ensure adequate availability of necessary tools, medications and materials.
Ensure that sufficient materials and supplies are available in the facility.
These competencies are required for the role :
Clinical degree / training required : Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse
Experience working in the field an advantage, particularly in primary health care, maternal and child health, communicable disease including HIV / AIDs, tropical disease, or reproductive health.
Experience working in an emergency response context preferred.
Exceptional bedside manner in a fast-paced environment
Ability to adapt to the needs of local patients and effectively utilize the limited resources available.
Proficiency in English required, proficiency in a second language (especially Spanish, French, or Arabic) an advantage.
Ability to deploy within 24-72 hours.
Employ independent decision making while also working well with a cohesive medical unit.
Works well under pressure and in stressful situations
Extremely organized, flexible, and excellent communication skills
US work authorization is required for this role
Fluency in English and Spanish required
