What You Will Do
Control & Diagnostic Systems (CDS) is a dynamic engineering organization focused on the development and certification of military, commercial and industrial gas turbine engine control and diagnostic systems.
CDS is responsible for all aspects of Pratt & Whitney engine control and diagnostic system development including : requirements analysis & definition, system & software architecture, algorithm design & product software design, verification & validation. We integrate the control and diagnostic system design across other engine system modules and with the air vehicles and provide support throughout the complete engine product life cycle. The Real-Time Embedded Systems discipline within CDS is responsible for the foundational software layer that abstracts the hardware and manages the resources for engine control and prognostic and health management applications for P&W engines using state of the art technologies, tools & methodologies.

Based on business needs, the incumbent may be required to support other duties / functions within the company and have availability to travel up to 10%.
The Embedded Software Engineer will be part of a team responsible for architecting, designing, and testing software for the next-generation FADEC technology.
As an Embedded Software Engineer, the candidate will contribute to requirements generation, embedded software development and integration and testing of software on the target hardware, in addition to developing tools to assist with software generation and testing.
Qualifications You Must Have
Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
2 years of engineering experience.
Software programming experience in C, C++ or Python.
Qualifications We Prefer
Experience with embedded processors
Experience with embedded systems debugging and system analysis tools (e.g. JTAG emulators, logic analyzers)
Experience with the Agile methodology
Familiarity with SPI, ARINC, and the Ethernet communication stack
Familiarity with SDLC (software development life cycle)
Familiarity with configuration management tools like git, and understanding of automated build system workflows
