arrivia , a leader in the travel industry with a global presence, is looking for a Senior Payroll & Accounting Specialist to join our fantastic Finance team in Portugal. This pivotal role is based near our office in Albufeira, and you'll be instrumental in supporting our daily financial operations across our vibrant locations in the UK, Portugal, and India. What You'll Do :
As a Senior Payroll & Accounting Specialist, you'll be responsible for a range of critical financial activities, ensuring accuracy and efficiency :
Taking charge of accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring smooth cash flow.
Preparing and maintaining critical financial records and reports, and assisting in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
Mastering invoice reconciliations and accurately inputting accounting entries into our ERP system.
Performing detailed bank statement and general ledger account reconciliations.
Overseeing payroll processing and review, ensuring compliance with Portuguese labor laws.
Maintaining impeccable and well-organized financial documentation.
Conducting vital monthly cost reconciliations and promptly issuing invoices.
Assisting with crucial budget filing and presentations.
Collaborating on various accounting tasks and special projects as needed.
What We're Looking For :
We're searching for a dedicated professional who meets the following criteria :
A university degree in Accounting or equivalent accounting professional training.
A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in an accounting or payroll role within a dynamic corporate setting.
Strong knowledge of Portuguese payroll laws is highly preferred.
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Familiarity with diverse accounting tools / software is a plus.
Bilingual fluency in Portuguese and English (both written and spoken) is essential for effective communication across our international teams.
