Job Overview :
The Payroll Generalist will be responsible for operating the End-to-End (E2E) payroll processing for Puerto Rico and United States. This role will ensure payroll presents accurately the compensation for employees, including salaries, wages and deductions while adhering to labor laws and tax regulations. In addition, this role will have oversight over the payroll processes for Bermuda and Cayman. This role will report to the CFO with dotted line to Human Resources.
Job Responsibilities :
- Responsible for calculating and processing payroll, ensuring accurate calculations of wages, salaries, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Responsible for entering and maintaining employee data in payroll system, including personal information, and pay rates.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and tax laws.
- Develop a business continuity plan for the area of responsibility.
- Address employee questions and concerns regarding payroll and resolve any payroll-related issues.
- Be a valued partner on projects impacting payroll, providing advice in terms of administrative efficiency.
- ADP Payroll Register, ADP Payroll Summary, ADP Summary, to be used by other team members for tax reports and any additional reports for upper management.
- Maintain regular communication with vendor ADP to facilitate seamless payroll processing and promptly address any system-related concerns.
- Reconcile benefit deductions with payroll records to ensure alignment and accuracy.
- Consolidate and upload payroll records and compensation history onto Egnyte for proper documentation and accessibility (historical and prospective).
- Perform audits and spot checks to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- Create a bi-monthly reconciliation process and checks to ensure completeness of the payroll prior to submission.
- Assist with the 1081.01 retirement savings planreporting and submission.
- Escalate major issues to CFO and other related parties with privity to the information.

Attention to detail and ability to calculate payroll figures and deductions accurately.Ability to handle confidential information and situations with discretion and care.Analyzing payroll data to identify potential errors.Excellent interpersonal skills.Excellent verbal and communication skills.Must be a self-starter who is comfortable working with all levels of employees from individual contributors to senior management.Proficient in using payroll software and other relevant software to manage payroll processes.Strong organizational and time-management skills.Job Requirements :
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Finance / Accounting or related field required.5+ years of payroll operational experience.Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or equivalent preferred.Oral and written fluency in English is required.
