Lead Software Engineer

Providing technical leadership for a large web ecosystem, the full-time Lead Software Engineer will manage approximately 140 WordPress sites and Drupal properties, while remaining hands-on in coding, architecture, and engineering standards in a remote work environment. Key responsibilities Own architecture, hosting, and infrastructure strategy across the web ecosystem Lead technical discovery and estimation, providing credible assessments to Product teams Mentor and develop engineers, ensuring knowledge sharing and reducing key-person dependencies Required qualifications Eight or more years of professional software engineering experience, including leadership roles Deep, current experience with WordPress and Drupal, including custom themes and plugins Strong modern PHP skills and experience with SQL and front-end JavaScript frameworks Proven CI/CD and DevOps skills, including automated build and deployment pipelines Experience managing hosting and environment configuration for production web platforms
