ASISTENTE DENTAL

Dental Assistant

The incumbent will be responsible for assisting the dentist at all times and performing non-invasive procedures. They will work under the direct supervision of the dentist and provide support three days a week in different clinics.

Primary Responsibilities

• Orient patients on oral hygiene, brushing, and nutrition affecting oral health.
• Call patients and receive patients in clinic. Seat patients, put on bib and have cup and suction ready.
• Have sterilized and/or clean dental materials ready for the dentist's use. Prepare the dental tray.
• Assist the dentist at all times and perform non-invasive procedures such as:
• Taking and developing X-rays
• Use of bands and amalgam materials
• Application of dental materials like varnish, bases, cements, amalgams, composites, etc.
• If required by the dentist, use and placement of "Rubber Dam"
• Fluoride application
• Patient prophylaxis
• Taking impressions for models
• Any function allowed by law that the dentist deems necessary and as long as it is non-invasive
• May take on reception or billing duties if necessary, only in case of emergency and not conflicting with previously described functions.
• May assume dental hygienist functions if needed.
• Participate in the requisition of materials and inventory, but will not be responsible for it. Sign as warehouse guard.
• Keep track of dental fridge temperature, informing the dentist when it goes over 40 degrees Celsius.
• Keep track of and change radiographic developer liquids.

Experience and Education Requirements

• Completed degree of Dental Assistant with Expanded Functions.
• 2+ years of experience in a similar position.
• Current license and registration.
• Ability to perform different tasks even when changes are notified in a short time.
• Significant knowledge of the practices of the profession as a Dental Assistant.
