Remote Assistant Controller

As the Assistant Controller, you will be a key member of the Accounting and Finance team, responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of financial reporting, tax compliance, and accounting in a fast-paced environment. You will play a critical role in ensuring the financial integrity of our operations, optimizing processes, and supporting the overall growth of the organization.

• Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements following GAAP standards.
• Manage month-end close procedures, including review of reconciliations and their supporting schedules from junior team members, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, balance sheet accruals, payroll & cash management.
• Conduct financial statement flux analysis, including trend analysis and variance analysis.
• Draft accounting policies, from financial reporting to internal documentation.
• Manage and develop senior and junior accountants to enable professional development.
• Oversee bank accounts and cryptocurrency wallets.
• Assist in year-end audit & review work.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant tax and regulatory frameworks.
• Review, implement and maintain process improvements to enhance the effectiveness of our accounting, reconciliations and overall control environment.
• Drive the implementation & maintenance of systems and tools that automate and streamline accounting processes.
• Assist in ensuring financial systems are integrated with blockchain transaction data and can handle the complexities of a multi-token environment.
• Bachelors degree in Finance or Accounting, preferably CPA designation.
• 10+ years of experience in accounting & finance functions.
• Strong understanding of blockchain technology, cryptocurrencies, and digital asset accounting.
• Previous experience in the blockchain and crypto space. Experience working with multiple networks/wallets is a plus.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical accounting concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
