This is a direct hire opportunity.This is a mission-critical transformation mandate at the intersection of grid operations, enterprise data, and AI-powered innovation. The CDTO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, owning the full technology portfolio including IT/OT infrastructure, data and analytics, AI product development, and cybersecurity. This leader will be accountable for ensuring secure, resilient technology operations while accelerating AI-driven transformation to improve grid reliability, storm restoration, and customer experience.Responsibilities:Ensure 24/7 availability, resiliency, and performance of enterprise and operational IT/OT systemsLead IT service management (ITSM) with a focus on minimizing downtime and accelerating storm restoration supportOversee hybrid infrastructure, field communications networks, and end-user computingDefine and execute a multi-year digital and grid modernization roadmapLead the design and deployment of AI-powered tools integrated into the enterprise technology stackOwn and execute the enterprise data strategy, aligning data capabilities with operational, regulatory, and business intelligence prioritiesEstablish the company as a data-driven utility by embedding analytics into core operational workflowsDeliver modern, intuitive, and reliable customer platforms (web, mobile, outage portals)Lead a comprehensive cybersecurity program aligned to NERC CIP, NIST, and utility critical infrastructure standardsEstablish disciplined IT and data capital planning and portfolio prioritization tied directly to business and grid outcomesRequirements:15 years of executive leadership in technology, digital transformation, data strategy, or related domainsProven experience deploying and scaling AI and machine learning solutions in complex operational environmentsDeep expertise in enterprise data management: data governance, MDM, data architecture, and analytics platform developmentDemonstrated success leading large-scale enterprise and operational technology transformation in mission-critical, 24/7 environmentsStrong expertise in cloud platforms, OT/IT integration, cybersecurity, and AI/MLTrack record of building high-performing data, engineering, and AI product teamsExperience navigating regulated environments and working with government or regulatory stakeholdersDesired skills:Experience with utility systems (OMS, ADMS, SCADA, EAM, CIS) strongly preferredOperator and transformer: equally strong in execution and long-term visionData-first thinker who understands that great AI requires great dataCrisis-tested leader with experience in high-stakes, real-time operational environmentsDeep collaborator across operations, finance, regulatory, and customer functionsCustomer- and community-focused, with a strong sense of mission and public trustIf you have the described qualifications and are interested in this exciting opportunity, apply today!ApTask Global Workforce (AGW) is a certified Minority and Veteran workforce solutions company.
