Saint John’s School seeks a dynamic and strategic Director of Development to lead all fundraising and advancement initiatives that support the school’s continued excellence. This is a pivotal leadership role charged with building meaningful relationships and securing critical resources—most notably through the design and execution of a $10 million capital campaign for the Imagine the Possibilities initiative. As a member of the school’s Leadership Team, the Director of Development will shape the long-term philanthropic vision of Saint John’s School, in alignment with our mission and strategic plan. This role offers the unique opportunity to champion a transformative campaign while fostering deep engagement with alumni, families, and the broader community. Key Responsibilities Capital Campaign Leadership
- Lead and implement a comprehensive capital campaign to raise $10 million for campus transformation.
- Partner closely with the Head of School, Board, and campaign leadership to identify, cultivate, and steward major donors.
Fundraising & Stewardship
Design and execute a comprehensive annual and long-term development strategy.Develop compelling donor communications and marketing materials.Oversee donor recognition and stewardship efforts, ensuring a culture of gratitude and ongoing engagement.Strengthen alumni relations and expand community partnerships.Institutional Collaboration
Serve as a member of the Leadership Team and a non-voting member of the Development and Alumni Affairs Committee.Collaborate with Admissions, Communications, and Alumni Relations to ensure alignment in messaging and outreach.Advise on fundraising goals across annual, capital, and endowment campaigns.Management & Reporting
Manage the Development Office budget and operations.Prepare and present monthly reports to the Head of School and Board Committees on campaign progress and priorities.Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certification in nonprofit management, communications, or related field preferred.5–7 years of progressive experience in fundraising, with a successful track record in capital campaign leadership.Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.Experience in donor database management (e.g., Raiser's Edge, DonorPerfect, or equivalent).Demonstrated ability to engage and inspire a diverse community of stakeholders.Deep commitment to the mission and values of Saint John’s School.This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to shape the future of one of Puerto Rico’s premier educational institutions.
