The Associate, Oriental Insurance (Broker Support) receive, process, and analyze the life insurance policies and annuities applications from Oriental Bank dual agents and insurance brokers to make the decision to submit the application to the insurance company or return the application to the agent for completion of additional documents for Oriental Insurance. Coordinate and process all documentation for the biannual renewal of the insurance OIN Corporate License as well as for all insurance agents licensed under OIN to comply with the requirements of the Office of the Commissioner of Insurance of Puerto Rico. This position will be working hybrid based in San Juan, PR.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Decide if the life and annuities insurance applications policies submitted by the insurance agents can be submitted to the insurance companies.
- Review and analyze the documents for completeness and compliance with Oriental Insurance policies and procedures, federal and state regulations, insurance companies requirements and subscription guidelines.
- Submit the insurance policy applications after the analysis is completed and decide to submit it or return to the agent requesting and detailing the missing documentation.
- Prepare documents and send all original documents to the Life insurance company after all requirements have been met.
- Follow up the life insurance applications submitted to the insurance companies and provide any additional documentation or clarifications requested by the insurance company if necessary.
- Liaise with the life insurance companies to receive the monthly account statements.
- Bill in AMS 360 the policy and submit the evidence of the deposit processed.
- Assist brokers and dual agents of OFS and Oriental Bank in the process of offerings and quotes of insurance policies and the claims of insurance products.
- Provide weekly report of sales made by insurance brokers.
- Process life insurance and annuities commission monthly accounting statements.
- Coordinate, process and submit all the documents required for the new and biannual renewal of the insurance corporate license in AMS 360.
- Support in administrative duties.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain professional relationships with agents, clients, and insurance companies.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Associate degree in Business Administration or related field, required.Two (2) years of experience as a Broker Assistant or Administrative Assistant in a Broker Dealer required. Experience in banking or in the insurance industry and / or in an Insurance Agency, preferred.Minimum education and experience required can be substituted with the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge skills and abilities.Life insurance license, preferred.Knowledge of Subscription Guidelines preferred.Knowledge in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), required.Excellent communication skills, customer service, and the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse staff, colleagues, and clients.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish with a demonstrated ability to write communications clearly, concisely, and effectively required.Li-Hybrid
