A Brief Overview
The Investor Accountant manages reconciling, reporting and remitting to various investors of single-family residential mortgages (SFO) including private label securitizations, Fannie Mae (FNMA), Freddie Mac (FHLMC) and / or Ginnie Mae (GNMA).Provides support to the other Accounting Units (Cash Accounting, Reconciliation, Disbursement) within the Mortgage Accounting Department, including more complex accounting matters.Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, monthly remittances and certain month end analysis guaranteeing efficiency in the Investor Senior Accountant also interacts with and provides support on external audit requirements and provides support to the business areas in audits requests.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Handling daily operational processes to ensure timely reporting, remitting and compliance in accordance with investor servicing guidelines, agreements and benchmarks which measure performance.
- Reconcile, report and remit various investors of single-family residential mortgages (SFO) including private label securitizations, Fannie Mae (FNMA), Freddie Mac (FHLMC) and / or Ginnie Mae (GNMA).
- Transfer and Sell loans to the private investor in MSP system. Reporting and remitting, special remittances, pay-offs, repurchases, defaulted loans including loss mitigation such as short pay-off', loan modifications, foreclosures, REO, third-party Sale and others.
- Prepare daily and monthly remittances for investors and manages mortgage-backed securities pool remittances (Ginnie Mae, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac).
- Monitoring daily edits or exceptions generated by the investors that need to be corrected and transmitted through EDR, LLR or will be required to submit / upload a LAR 96.
- Performing Monthly Fannie Mae Portfolio reconciliation (Internal reports Vs. Fannie Mae Turn aroundMedia on LSDU or CONNECT includes Mortgage Portfolio Form 473 for A / A, Form 512 for S / S MBS Schedules1 / 1A, Interest Rate / Pass-Through Rate reconciliation Form 473 A-Schedule 2 and the A / A Shortage / Surplus reconciliation Form 472 Schedule 3.
- Performing Monthly Freddie Mac Principal and Interest Custodial Account Reconciliation (Worksheet-Monthly Account Statement) for all Seller / Servicer.
- Monitoring of automated computation of Delinquent P&I Advances monthly and monitoring advance reimbursement, depositing A / A interest differentials and Fannie Mae MBS Guaranty Fees no later than draft date.
- Processing any repurchase loan on MSP System that is required for the investors or for the Loss Mitigation Unit, Mortgage Quality Unit and / or Mortgage Default Unit.
- Perform journal entries related to investor accounting, remittance payments, custodial adjustments, remittance adjustments, and / or any other activity.
- Performing processes related to Servicing Release transactions including escrow transfers, etc.
- Prepare accounting journal entries transactions on the Oracle Application.
- Processing ICE Delinquency Section updates related to new Real Estate Owned (REO) properties, with corresponding Book-Balance / UPB transactions to the subsidiary with MSP Transactions 43 & 47 inclusive of Third-Party assets (DENK Screen).
- Other duties assigned by the manager may include attending meetings, preparing reports and participating in internal and external audits as subject matter experts and special projects.
- Assist as required in the timely and accurate preparation of reports / returns required internally or by local and federal regulatory agencies
- Prepare internal reports as requested and impromptu Investor portfolio information request, (Repurchases, etc.)
- Provides backup during vacations and other personnel leaves.
What You’ll Need :
A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required for this job.Proven two years or more of experience in accounting, preferably in the banking industry.Thorough understanding of general accepted accounting principles (GAAP) includes solid knowledge of bookkeeping principles, laws and regulations.Strong analytical and accounting skills.Advanced experience with MS Office applications (Excel, Word) or similar programs preferred.Fully bilingual, strong oral, written communication and people skills.Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision is also required.Competencies :
